Sackville Students Ghana Expedition Fundraiser at

the Tarana Restaurant.

Press Release by Monica Hunt
More than 80 friends and family enjoyed a wonderful evening at the recently opened Tarana Restaurant in Turners Hill. Shah Koreshi (owner) and the manager Jahan had agreed to a host the evening and donate a percentage of the meal takings to the seven Sackville year 10 students. Everyone that attended raved about the exquisite food, the incredibly attentive staff and the generosity of the Tarana. Fraser Hunt, one of the challengers, said, ‘ The Tarana staff were fantastic! Not only were they donating money for our expedition to Ghana but they also gave us a meal voucher and a bottle of wine to put in the raffle!’
The students are due to depart to Ghana during the Easter Holidays but have spent the last year working to raise the cost of the trip. Whilst in Ghana they will spend a week working in either a village school in an endeavour to improve the lives of local children. They will also trek through the Ghanaian Rainforest. The trip is arranged by Phil Wilcox, a Physics teacher from Sackville School and booked with World Challenge UK. The expedition will enable the students to experience the culture and way of life of African children. The students and parents would like to thank Nick Castiglione from Our Lady & St.Peter’s Church who helped to arrange the evening.
