The BCA represents the 12,000 Bangladeshi Restaurants throughout the UK and to win this award is a truly great achievement in the face of stiff opposition.
The dinner was attended by over 600 guests with the guest of honour being the Secretary of State for International Development. RT Honourable Mr. Douglas Alexander MP.
A Video Message was sent by the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, and David Cameron MP also sent a letter of support to the event.
Shah Koreshi owner of Tarana received the Best Restaurant and Caterer award from Cllr Mr Lutfor RAHAM Leader of Tower Hamlets Council and Mr Sanjiva Rishi, Chief Operations Officer for ‘KOHINOOR’ the company sponsoring this award.
Shah who was overwhelmed with receiving Best Restaurant and Caterer award said. “I cannot tell you how grateful I am to receive this award, both for myself and everyone at Tarana. We have all worked very hard to make the restaurant what it is and it is fantastic that the BCA have recognised our efforts in this way. It has not been an easy journey, and I would not have been able to do this without the help and support of my family, brothers, the staff at Tarana and last but not least our Customers. I am looking forward now to 2010 and hope to make it an even better year.”
